The story
The beginning
Alvin Bayona began his journey in 2015 as an athlete with a disability, determined to prove that physical limitations do not limit potential. From the sea to the mountains, he turned his life experience into a platform to inspire and open new paths.
The challenge
Adaptive surfing was only just taking its first steps. There was little structure, limited visibility and many logistical barriers. Alvin responded with resilience, constant training and a clear vision: professionalise the discipline without losing its human dimension.
The achievements
Three world bronzes, one team gold, competitions in more than 15 countries and over 50 features have made his name an international reference point. At the same time, more than 1000 people have already taken part in the Alvin Bayona Foundation through adaptive sport and inclusion.
What's next
Today Alvin Bayona is a world reference in adaptive surfing, but the goal does not stop at the podium. The next chapter is about democratising access to sport, expanding programmes and continuing to turn barriers into real opportunities for more people.
