Physical and psychological benefits
Physical Benefits

Adapted Paddle Surfing, like any sport, has immediate physical repercussions on our entire body.
The first effect is related to the enjoyment of nature and the body's reaction to stimuli, in Álvaro's words : “Being an outdoor physical activity, where we'll be exposed to the sun, salt water, clean air, and wind, it will immediately provide us with a personal benefit compared to being inside a gym, an enclosed space. Exercising in nature significantly increases our sensitivity.”
Adapted SUP allows for great recovery of muscle tone, since the habit of going out to paddle regularly, as we have explained in other posts, will provide you with musculature that will be very beneficial in your daily life in the chair.
Strengthening the upper body will increase stability, balance, and consequently, our quality of life.
Mobility in our chair will undoubtedly be better.
Psychological Benefits
Although the result will be worth it, it's important to remember that adaptive SUP initially requires effort. Just starting a day of adaptive SUP demands an extraordinary effort for someone not used to wheelchair sports.
The first thing you should do is clearly set yourself the goal of getting out of your comfort zone and opening your mind to new horizons.
Break out of your daily routine and prepare yourself mentally for a new outdoor activity.
This uncomfortable feeling is common at the beginning of any new activity, but we shouldn't let it stop us. These feelings of fear will appear, but it's just a bodily state because it's unfamiliar with our new purpose.
You have to make FEAR your best ally. The result will be incredible . Stand-up paddleboarding is an activity that will give you new sensations, so you'll already be reaping psychological benefits. This is called OVERCOMING CHALLENGES.

Board, paddle and equipment
The Table remains just as important; without it, we obviously can't leave. In this case, there are several options.
SUPs with wheelchairs, or those with built-in wheelchairs , or for those who are able, or feel more comfortable or secure, can use a kayak seat. However, for safety, certified seats are recommended. Paddle Surfea stands alongside the experts in this regard. Experience is key, without a doubt.
Then we have other options: special boards, the On-it ability boards , which have taken adaptive paddle surfing to another level. They are usually used by schools or rehabilitation centers.
Adapted paddleboards have made this sport accessible to people who, due to various circumstances, couldn't or were afraid to go near the water. This has given many people the opportunity not only to experience the aquatic environment but also to fully enjoy the physical and psychological benefits of this sport. In short, they can once again be in full contact with nature and the outdoors: ENJOY – Be Free, think of yourself.
As for the paddle, the procedure for choosing it is the same as for anyone else, and the equipment, obviously, we will have to assume SAFETY , life jacket or PFD, dry bag, whatever you need to have a great adventure, but always feeling safe and happy to overcome whatever stops you.
