Success of the ParaSurfing Camp – Zarautz May 2022

We want to share the results of the Zaratuz ParaSurfing Camp with you. First, we'll tell you about our plans for this event, then we'll show you the results! 🙂

Success of the ParaSurfing Camp — Zarautz May 2022

What is this camp about?

This is a weekend getaway for the adaptive surfing or parasurfing community, a chance for beginners to learn and for those with some experience to further refine their skills. We'll have the support of members of the National Parasurfing Team to expand our knowledge of specific conditions, including paraplegia, amputations, and hemiplegia. The activities and philosophy of the Alvin Bayona Foundation are always focused on individual effort, sacrifice, self-sufficiency, and, as a reward, immense enjoyment and an understanding of your own limits.

How was our planning?

• FRIDAY, MAY 6 • Arrival of participants at HOSTEL BLAI BLAI. • Briefing on the operation and development of the CAMP.

• SATURDAY, MAY 7, 9 AM

– We will meet at the relevant school for wetsuit and board selection. THEORY OF PROGRESSION AND PROPER SURFING EXERCISE

-How we will enter the water through safe areas. .Reading the surf and entry channels.

-PROGRESSION (crawling or amphibious chair, water entry, progression to pass through whitewater and balance work on the surfboard.)

-Positioning at the PEAK and ACTIVE PADDLING to catch waves.

- Surfing waves. Type of wave and technique for each. (hollow wave with a barrel and big wave with whitewater). - 2 hours of surfing. (We will go out at mid-tide or whatever suits us best, depending on the conditions).

IN THE AFTERNOON: We will have access to the yoga room to share our feelings and what we learned during the day through video corrections and specific technical explanations of parasurfing. We will expand your knowledge of good physical maintenance. SUNDAY, MAY 8

-9 am. We'll pick up our wetsuits and boards and head straight to the beach, our meeting point. Full-on surfing!!! If we all get into a good rhythm, we can put everything we learned on Saturday into practice and see how far we want to go with surfing, whether it's just an experience or if we want to become independent surfers. *All always supported by certified instructors and dedicated surfing volunteers.

Now we'll show you the result 🙂 (Tap the photo you want and swipe for the next ones!):
