The high level of competition and organization, combined with good sunshine and excellent conditions on the Cantabrian beach, allowed everyone to enjoy a great show.

Rafael Teixeira, in the men's category, and Lucía Machado, in the women's category, managed to take first place on the podium in their respective categories in the second event of the Siroko Super League , which was held this weekend in Berria (Cantabria).

Teixeira triumphed in the men's category, defeating Hodei Collazo (who ultimately finished second) in the final . Earlier, the Brazilian rider had won his semifinal heat against Jonathan González from the Canary Islands, who had been the star of the morning session and finished third. Collazo, meanwhile, reached the final by winning his heat against fellow Basque rider Endika Garai (who finished third).

The four semi-finalists emerged from a competitive Round 3 in which surfers of the caliber of Sean Gunning, Martín Cortijo, Gonzalo Gutiérrez and Bitor Garitaonandia had participated.

At the end of the race, Rafael Teixeira did not hesitate to emphasize that it had been an "incredible" victory, especially considering that in the previous Siroko Super League event held in Sopelana things "had not gone as well as I expected (he finished fifth)."

“This victory in Berria (which allows him to be the leader of the ranking for the Siroko Super League play-off) is a morale boost, thinking about the next events of the World Circuit, where I have really set myself the goal this season to achieve good results,” he explained.

Meanwhile, in the women's category, the competitive level was more than maintained, since there was participation from surfers of the quality of Laura Coviella, Marcela Machado, Iara Domínguez and Ana Betancor.

However, it was Lucía Machado from the Canary Islands who triumphed in the final (in a woman-to-woman format) over the other big star of the weekend, Ainara Aymat (second place), after having defeated Leticia Canales (third place) in the semifinals. Similarly, Aymat had emerged victorious in her semifinal match against Lucía Martiño (third place).

Machado was “very happy” with the first place achieved, having already finished second in the previous Sopelana event, thus being the first ranked for the Siroko Super League play-off in the women's category.

“It’s a real privilege to participate in a competition where both the organization and the sporting level are so high. Furthermore, there’s a great atmosphere among all the competitors, and the prizes offered make it very attractive for us,” she noted.

Furthermore, Lucía Machado emphasized that "it is always good to face the following events, such as the Spanish Championship and the Open of Communities, with the confidence that good results provide."

Finally, in the 'Adapted Surfing' category final, Jon Artola took the victory, followed by Aitor Francesena and Marcos Tapia, who finished second and third respectively. Alvin Bayona came in fourth.

Siroko representative Lucas Altamira emphasized that “the event was a complete success. We had two days of incredible weather and great waves. The first day featured very technical surfing, while the second day, with bigger waves, provided a more complete spectacle,” he stressed. He also expressed his excitement at the large crowd that gathered at Berria beach.

The event has been sponsored by Siroko, Cervezas San Miguel, Subaru, Vita, Asana, Raw Organic Sport Drink, As media partner Acción and has the collaboration of Surflogic, Santoña City Council and Watsay.
