Alvin Bayona Foundation

When I was little, I was asked the typical question:
What do you want to be when you grow up, Álvaro?
If you were ever asked this question, your answer was probably concise and clear, which is why you're here. But like almost everything in my life, my future couldn't be summed up in a single word. I wanted to live, my way.
And my life is sports.
It's the water and the snow, the cold of winter and the salt of summer. When I think about my accident, a quote from Steve Jobs comes to mind: "If you live life as if it were your last day, someday you might be right."
For this reason, it is necessary to get up every morning and ask ourselves:
Do I like what I'm doing today?
I can say yes. But I want more.
In this world designed for walking, life in a wheelchair must also be included. We are more than capable of doing what we want, when and how we want. At our own pace. Often, fear prevents us from doing what we want or loving what we do.
The Alvin Bayona Foundation will break down dogmas and beliefs so that people like me can live guided by their dreams, expectations, opinions, and ideas without unfounded fears.
We want to be a space where we can share our passion for adapted sports and learn about a lifestyle that is not limited by our disabilities.
The foundation aims to convey the idea that a new life begins, because if you truly want something, nothing ever ends. I intend to spread this message to every corner of the globe.
We humans are the only ones who can save each other, and we have the certainty that our bodies will disappear when we die, but not our ideas, which will be the best legacy we can leave to the world.
My experiences, expectations, and memories will go with me, but disabled people will continue in search of their freedom among waves or snowy mountains, which is why I believe the Foundation is vital to bring outdoor sports closer to people who still don't know their real possibilities.
To break with established myths so that those who believe their life is slipping away can happily reclaim it.
My only message is my own life , and the legacy I leave behind will depend on the people who want to join me on this wonderful adventure.
