The Pro Zarautz Open will be held from October 19th to 23rd!!

The first international adaptive surfing competition, where the Alvin Bayona Foundation will be present!

There will be 35 participants in each category, which means a strong start to an event that's here to stay; hopefully, we'll go much further!

Zarautz will once again be the epicenter of this sport, as always a leading destination. Alongside the surfing, the event will feature a wide variety of activities as part of the FederArte surfing kultura circuit, including live music, barbecues, talks, and skateboarding and bodyboarding demonstrations. Don't miss it!

At the presentation held in Zarautz, the organizers emphasized that after two years without being able to celebrate anything, "with the support of the institutions and the brands, we are going to be able to resume this sporting event that is so popular in Zarautz and the Basque Country."

Among the potential participants is Aitor Francesena, the world champion in adaptive surfing from Zarautz, provided his schedule allows it. He will be competing in the United States this week.

Yesterday, this meeting was supported by Iker Goiria, from the Tourism Department of the Provincial Council; Leire Arana, Tourism Councillor of the Zarautz City Council; Maialen Sáez, President of the Gipuzkoa Federation; and Guillermo Lam, director of the cultural part of the event.

They were all accompanied by Julen Egiguren, competition director, the winner of the Gipuzkoa championship and one of the wildcards invited to Zarautz, Bitor Garitaonandia, as well as Álvaro Bayona, from our foundation, organizer of the championship.
