Adaptive Surfing: waves for every ability
The Alvin Bayona Foundation has promoted adaptive surfing in Spain since 2015. We combine custom-designed aquatic chairs, trained technicians and direct international competition experience (ISA World Para Surfing) so that people with paraplegia, functional tetraplegia and other severe disabilities can surf safely and independently.

About waves for every ability
▸Can I practice adaptive surfing if I have paraplegia?
Yes. The Alvin Bayona Foundation's adaptive surfing program is designed for people with spinal cord injury and other motor disabilities. Each case is individually evaluated to select the right chair and progression level.
▸Where is the foundation's adaptive surfing practiced?
Primarily in Catalonia (Barcelona and Catalan coast) and Basque Country beaches like Zarautz, plus events in Galicia, Andalusia and international events.
▸Do I need previous surfing experience?
No. We work with people coming to the sea for the first time after an injury and also with athletes who want to compete at the highest level.
▸How do I sign up for a test session?
